The Bee Line (Pierce Butler Route) is looking for helpers this month with its seed stocks. During fall community seed collecting workshops, 120 species of native pollinator plant seed were collected and that seed needs to be processed and packaged! Join area native pollinator plant enthusiasts to assist with this effort at Hancock Rec Center at a series of Monday lunchtime Seed Sessions. During Seed Sessions, participants will gain practical seed saving skills such as seed cleaning, seed storage, and seed starting. The resulting processed seeds will be used in upcoming Bee Line seed starting classes and in seed starting kits that will be available starting in February.
All supplies will be provided and attendees are welcome to bring their lunch. No experience is needed. No rsvp is required for Seed Sessions, but questions and status updates can be directed to trees@hamlinemidway,.org. This event is a drop-in activity supported by the HMC Environment Committee, with support from Lawns to Legumes. For more information about the Bee Line see www.hamlinemidway.org/beeline .
